  • Openness- As per the result of personality test, openness is the best characteristic that I have. Openness is a degree to which someone is intellectual, creative, original, open, and curious to bring new ideas. As a student, I was always motivated to learn various new skills. It can serve as an advantage while entering into new organization. The openness helps me to gain lot of information and maintain better relationships with others. As compare to people with low openness, it leads me in speedier adjustment to new job.
  • Conscientiousness- it is a degree to which an individual is punctual, systematic, and organized. Punctuality is the most important aspect that describes my personality. This trait is the most desired aspect of recruiters that helps in success of interview. In every aspect of work, conscientiousness is the most important thing that I have followed. Motivation of performing task, low level of absenteeism, low level of turnover is the essential thing that describes my personality. This good trait will help me in long term.

Disadvantages of personality type in relation to guiding and managing and overcome of these disadvantages

  • Lack of openness while public speaking- while communicating with people in smaller group, I can communicate easily. However, when it comes to speaking in public, some hesitation and fear decreases the morale. In this way, it hinders the performance and way of guiding and managing large number of people. I will start participating in group activities so that it will improve my communication skills while speaking in public.

In order to remove the disadvantages of public speaking, I will start communicating with more and more people so that hesitation and fear can be removed to some extent. Besides doing this, seminar improves the public speaking so I will start speaking in seminar.

  • Lack of team building- from the personality test, it is revealed that the skills required for working in team is lacking in me. I will improve this by taking more group projects, presentations. By taking more group session, I will assure to improve the team building skills.
  • Body language- it sometimes happen that what I am speaking do not match my body language. I will take the personality grooming training so that the problem can be solved (Koka and Pilani, 2015). In the part of this training program, I will understand all the important aspects of personality that are required for working in an organization. I have seen that there are various meetings held in organization; therefore learning right type of body language is a critical aspect.

 

How to manage stress and be resilient

In multinational organizations, there are situation when obstacle occurs. Therefore, it is required to remove all those obstacles by taking quick action on that. In high-pressure organization, there are many times when senior management deals with people in aggressive way. Firstly, I will not respond to my senior management that time because it creates more anger when we communicate with angry person. After some time when senior manager will calm down, I will communicate with the senior manager personally. According to me, face-to-face communication is a best way that makes the communication better. In order to manage this issue, I will set a goal in order to achieve that target. The goal will be set somewhat higher than what is required to be achieved. This will help me in keep focus on my target that I have to achieve. I will not revert back with the anger but with my result so that the senior manager will come to know about my work later on. After deciding of the goal, I will do scheduling of task (Van, et al, 2015).

Based on demand of the senior manager, I will divide the work so that it can be done in easy way and less demand. It may happen it will give some stress due to increasing burden. However, by coping up with the demand, work will be completed. Motivation and stable approach will be taken when senior manager will take demanding and confrontation approach. Despite of answering back, I will try to understand the pressure on senior manager too. This will help me in working hard according to his expectation (Vegt, Essens, Wahlstrom and George, 2015).

From all the important aspects discussed above, the best way to manage stress is making some time for relaxation. I will give some gap to my senior manager so that he will come back in the previous behaviour. After sometime, I will express my feelings so that it will help in creating a balance life of professional and personal life. I will always develop the positive self-talk by reminding that I am strong and can become more stronger when life gives challenges (Kossek and Perrigino, 2016). I will respond toward the challenges by taking suitable challenges rather than with blame, fear. By not getting overwhelmed with my emotion, I will try to find the valuable information about the changes that I need in my life. It is important to do the research about meeting the challenges. I will be resilient by understanding the circumstances of the organization.

I always follow a mantra in my life that I will apply to the situation “Do not give up on the situation rather than work toward it.” It always helps me whenever I feel stress in my life.

Effective ways to ensure clear and open communication between team members working internationally

  1. 1.Diversity training programme- it is obvious that diverse workforce create challenges in terms of customs, communication, and religion. I will map out the differences in terms of how people conduct themselves at the workplace and what is people’s motivation that enables them in contributing their best (Alhejji et al, 2016). The first step will be taken for managing the communication breakdown is implementation of diversity training program. In this program, members will teach about the different cultural backgrounds. Online training sessions will be held in which all the team members communicate with each other in order to each other perception.
  2. 2.Development of self-service software- It is understood that knowing team members is an essential component to remove any type of difference. I will conduct a meeting for the team members to know the differences that present. These may of difference in language, fault lines. Self-service software will be developed to counter the miscommunication. With the help of this program, team members will easily come to know about each person. This software will manage the various aspects of team such as questions with the work being completed.
  3. 3.Establishment of certain norms- in order to manage the team members across different countries, certain norms will be established. It is assured from all the members to stick with these norms. Time-to-time update of these norms will be communicated to the members so that they come to know about changing expectations (Advance system, 2017).
  4. 4.Use of social media sites- it is necessary for team members to do time to time communication with each other. It is not possible to do face to face communication with the members working in different countries (Boulianne, 2015). A group will be made on social media site so that quick communication can be possible. In that group, team members will communicate regarding their work or any type of queries. Through the help of media sites, regular meetings will be held in which information will be exchanged. This will help the members to know importance of working globally.
  5. 5.Surveys- in order to remove the communication breakdown among members operating in different countries, surveys will be done in order to know the reason of miscommunication among team members. Survey will help to know the major issues that members are facing while communicating. After knowing the problems through survey, I will start working on those issues by assuring the effective and better communication.

Ways to improve motivation of employees besides salary

It is not necessary that employees motivated only by increment in salary. Several factors boost the motivation of employees at workplace. Following things will motivate the employees in research and innovation department-

  • Appreciation for their efforts- Appreciation is the most important thing that motivates the employees at workplace. Whenever employees will done work beyond expectation, they will be recognise for that in the organization. It will help the employee to get motivated and work more for the next project. it is rightly said that a small appreciation helps the employees to improve their performance (Ristic, Selakovic and Qureshi, 2017).When employees know that they will be recognised for their innovative work and efforts, they are likely to put more efforts by come up with a new idea. Herzberg motivation hygiene theory also states two factors can motivate the employees at workplace. In the motivator factors, it states the recognition at the top level to motivate the employees.
  • Use of democratic and laissez leadership style- democratic leadership style is used to involve the team members in decision making before making any final decision. It motivates the employees to work more when they feel that management is also concern for them (Fiaz, Su and Saqib, 2017). Besides this, when employees are free to work as per their own, they get motivates. Therefore, laissez leadership style is useful for motivation of employees.
  • Growth and career opportunities- Besides increment in salary, opportunities for growth also motivate the employees in organization. There should be clear opportunities for employees when they perform continuously well in the organization (Herzberg, 2017). Many employees work with more productivity when they know the organization provide various growth opportunities. Giving increment in salary is not only important; career opportunities also play a major role in organization for motivation. This approach will be taken in the organization, because in today’s environment, this approach is necessary to retain the employees at workplace (Mone and London, 2018).
  • Positive vibes at workplace- In addition to salary and appreciation, employees likely to work in those organizations that give them positive vibe while working. Negativity at workplace can stifle the risk taking and innovation of employees at workplace. It is seen that organization having more positive environment at workplace likely to have more innovative employees. In this way, positivity at workplace will help the employees to work more and in efficient way. Better relations at workplace keep the employees happy to do more work by applying their more efforts in projects. Creating such type of workplace where they are inspired is a good way to motivate employees.
  • Vacation time- every employee requires some time to spend their time with family or friends. It is not necessary that employees who require some additional time off are not dedicated to work. Some employees require extra time in order to take relax. This approach will be taken so that employees can enjoy their personal life and improve productivity at workplace. Most of the good companies are adopting the additional time off policies because they know productive employees will not make misuse of such policies in organization (Mone and London, 2018).
  • Responsibility and autonomy- it is essential for every employee to know where he or she stands in the company. It is seen that employees get motivated to work in that field when the work is according to their interest (Miller, 2018). Creativity automatically comes when they are interested in doing something. It is important to ensure the employees are allowed to express their feelings. By doing this, employees feel motivated at work and their productivity increases.

Ways to influence senior manager about the valuable ideas

Communication is a best way to initiate something in front of others (Quirke, 2017).Among all the forms of communication, face-to-face or verbal communication is a best way to tell something. Personal meeting will help in initiating something in a better way towards the senior level management. For keeping my senior management believe that my ideas are valuable for the organization, I will first explain the initiative in brief. After explaining the ideas, I will explain the benefits of the idea that will help the organization to gain competitive advantage and growth (Boynton, 2014). Besides explaining it, it is important to add some benefits of the idea in long term. By keeping this approach in mind, I will figure out the application of idea in the long term. I will also consider the long-term benefits of idea to senior management by dividing them into small parts with the help of flow chart. Flow chart will consist of several activities that need to be done for accomplishing the task.

Various things are needed to bring the idea into practice. Therefore, an estimated cost will be communicate to the senior management by explaining physical as human resource that are require to bring the idea into action. In every idea, there is risk associated, it is necessary to communicate it before in order to maintain the better relationship in organization. Senior manager will believe in communicating better and in effective way. In order to effectively communicate the idea, that idea will be explained by applying it to the 21st century business organization (Obradovich, Schebesch, Pirtle and Crain, 2012).

In addition to all this, I will link the idea with the organizational goals and objective on which the organization is working. After careful analysis of the major goals of the organization, I will present the idea through the presentation. These efforts will be made by me in order to make the ideas valuable in front of senior manager. Creativity is also an important aspect in addressing something in a better way. Therefore, I will include the charts in presentation so that the message will be convey to the senior manager in an effective way.

By taking all these aspects in mind, I will definitely link the idea with the organizational goal. A company strives for achieving its target in order to succeed in the environment. Therefore, idea should be such that helps the organization to achieve its goals in efficient manner. I will assure the requirements of human resources needed to make the idea successful in the organization. Among all these, time is also an important factor while communicating with the senior manager. While presenting the idea to the senior manager, I will present my idea by taking too less time of manager. The conversation will only done for importance of idea and its importance in organization. I will not discuss other matters in the meeting as manager has so many works to do besides this.

Ways to improve creativity and innovation in a team

In today’s business environment, innovation is major concept for improving the productivity of employees. Therefore, it is necessary to bring some innovation concepts through the team members. Various ways help in bringing innovation and creativity form the team members. Following things will be taken to bring innovation and creative among team members:

  • Positive environment- Firstly, I will create the positive environment among team members that will bring open engagement from members. It will help in creating a culture that ensures the team members that their ideas are given value (Wu and Parker, 2017). I will provide them opportunities to test their ideas. Climate of trust, respect, and safety will be provided to the team members. Members will be energised through various quality discussions.
  • Allocation of task as per interest of members- The best way to innovation is to allocate the task to members according to their choice. Team members give their whole efforts when the task is according to their innovation (Anderson,  Poto?nik  and Zhou,  2014). By keeping this in mind, it is assured that they are interested in doing the project that is assigned to them. A helping environment is also needed while working in a team. The team will feel like that their voice is appreciated in a team. Team members will be appreciated for their accomplishment of task. When members know that, the organization appreciate them when they do creative work, they will put their extra efforts to achieve the target. 
  • Tangible and visible ideas- in order to bring the innovation from team members, it is essential to provide them those ideas that they can achieve. I will help the team members by drawing the diagrams of ideas (Ferraris, Santoro and Bresciani, 2017). It will help the team members to see what I mean to say by specifying it through diagrams. It will help the members draw out the clear meaning of those ideas.
  • Regular brainstorming in team- for ensuing innovation and creativity among team members, I will take brainstorming sessions every week or in a month. The innovative idea of team member will be link with incentives so that they put apply their strategies to come up with creativity in the organization. The rewards and other benefits will work as fuel for future innovation (Oppong, 2017).
  • Connection of project with the company objectives- Innovative and creativity automatically brings when the projects are linked to the objectives of the company. Innovation is necessary for the team members to make the objectives tangible (Chang, 2016). If members can directly link the project with the goal of the organization, they will apply their innovative ideas to achieve the objective. Therefore, I will assist the members by connecting the project with organizational mission. (Perry-smith and Mannucci, 2017).
  • Encourage of mistakes- it is a best way to boost innovative ideas is by making it clear that errors are not abided but encouraged. It will be explained to the members that mistakes are the part of bring creativity and innovation. It will allow the members to at least apply their efforts for innovative work.
  • Time-to-time feedback- it is necessary to provide feedback to team members after each project (Levi, 2015). I will show them how their work has produced best results in the organization. It will keep the employees happy at the workplace. By doing this, they will put more efforts in the next project.
