Theseresultsare provided on behalf of Analytical.com. An employee engagement survey was conducted for MonarchDepartment Store, over the course of one week across all store departments. All staff completed a written survey and were interviewed by Alan Henderson from Analytical.com.

56% of respondents indicated the service/sales culture of the organisation was strong and effective. General interview consensus indicates the organisation has procedures and policies that support service and sales culture.

Autonomy

57% of respondents felt they had sufficient autonomy in their role. General interview consensus indicates that role design and organisational structure could be improved to increase autonomy within the organisation.

Communication

48% of respondents were knowledgeable on organisational communication channels and procedure. General interview consensus indicates more training is required on communication procedures.

Leadership/management

23% of respondents indicated leadership and management meet with organisational requirements. The majority of respondents felt the organisational leadership and management could be improved. General interview consensus indicates that leaders and managers are under skilled. 

Cultural/ethical principles and values

19% of respondents felt that there was adequate cultural diversity within the organisation. General interview consensus indicates a lack of organisational diversity ethics, values and policies.

Training and development

65% of respondents had completed internal training for their role.  General interview consensus indicated that ongoing development plans are not provided.  Training is effective for initial role, but no further development occurs.

Career pathways and promotions

20% of respondents indicated the organisation had clear career pathways and promoted internal staff. General interview consensus indicates a lack of long-term career or skill development opportunities.

Ongoing employment with the organisation

48% of respondents indicated they would remain with the organisation for the next 12 months. General interview consensus indicates that the employment duration would be extended if the organisational leadership and management was stronger.
